Statement of Work 2023 NPR-A Winter Fuel Delivery
1.0 Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has three remote Jet-A aviation fuel tanks at Ikpikpuk, Umiat, and Inigok in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPR-A). The fuel tank locations are listed below and shown on the attached map.
Location Latitude and Longitude Ikpikpuk 70.4548, -154.3345 Inigok 70.0048, -153.0878 Umiat 69.3712, -152.1358
The Ikpikpuk tank is inaccessible by road or by fixed wing aircraft, and can only be filled through overland delivery during the winter or by utilizing a helicopter to sling load individual 55 gallon drums of fuel during the summer months. The Inigok and Umiat tanks are inaccessible by road. They are accessible by fixed wing aircraft in the summer, however fuel was not delivered at the end of the field season because of weather and mechanical issues.
