Waterjet Specification

· Minimum 60,000 psi (30 hp) pump

· Machine must be equipped with a 5-axis cutting head capable of 60 degrees of motion for weld preparations with integrated active taper compensation to achieve accurate part consistency and concentricity/taper.

· Pump shall have diagnostic sensors that communicate directly with an on screen diagnostic chart capable of shutting down the machine if an issue is detected that could cause significant harm to the system.

· Machine must be capable of holding and cutting a full 10’x 5’ sheet of material.

· Due to building space constraints, the XY robotics shall use a cantilever design to allow for ease of loading and unloading material. Gantry designs cannot be accepted.

· Machine must utilize ball screw drive systems in the X, Y, and Z axis.

· Machine must have a minimum of 7” of programmable Z-Axis travel

· X and Y axes linear positional accuracy: No more than ± 0.003 inch

· Ballbar Circularity: No more than ± 0.004 inch

· Lifetime training at the manufacturer’s facility included with the machine purchase due to active duty machinists rotating at the Command every 2-3 years.

· System shall include a roll around capable operator station to provide easy access for the machine operation.

· Operator station must utilize a Windows based software with a USB port

· System shall have the capability of piercing/cutting phenolic and composites without delaminating the opposing side.

· Must include material laser edge finder.

· Must include a closed loop water treatment system.

· Must include a minimum 2,000 lbs of garnet abrasive with the purchase of the machine.

· Must contain a minimum bulk delivery system of 500 lbs before refill is necessary.

· System must come with a minimum of 2 seats of software with no cost upgrades in the future.

· Software must comprise the following capabilities:

· Have full geometric nesting capability

· Be able to calculate cut speed based on 3 parameters; cut quality, material type, and material thickness.

· Imports industry standard 2D and 3D CAD formats including, DXF,DWG, IGS, IGES, PDF, SAT, SAB, STP, STEP, 3DM, EMP, EMN, and STL files.

· Imports Standard Image and Video formats including, JPG, BMP, PNG, TIF, GIF, WMV, and AVI files.

· User friendly, icon-based menu structure

· Graphical programming environment, no “G-code” required

· Modifiable tool path generation with automatic lead-in and lead-out and rapid traverse lines

· Full dimensioning and detailing capability for on machine designing

· Full conceptual design functionality

· CAD drawing and editing tools

· 3D design capabilities in all planes

· Line, arc, rectangle, circle, ellipse, array, curve (spline), mirror, rotate, scale, etc.

· Ability to calculate surface area of a drawn part for material use calculations.

· 3D chamfering and radius tools

· Realistic rendering capability

· Part tabbing function that allows a user to choose the location, gap and length of entry and exit points for a part tab

· Plate alignment function to compensate for plate rotation, angle or skew

· Displays real-time tool location, including both machine home and “floating” user home

· Array nesting with adjustable gap between parts

· Part preview displays and “Dry Run” option to test part programs

· Part cut time estimation

· Restart a cut from any point on the path or nest

· Ability to pierce all holes first at low pressure, then cut at high pressure for use during special piercing operations of brittle materials

· Diagnostic screen allows easy system troubleshooting

· Ability to set multiple user home positions
