Site Visit

Payette National Forest – Lost Valley Loop Road Resurfacing

Project Summary: This project performs road reconditioning and aggregate placement on 33 miles of roads in vicinity of Lost Valley Reservoir and crushes aggregate at 2 gravel pits. Work includes culvert removal, placing rip rap, placing aggregate base and surface courses, road reconditioning, placing dust abatement, crushing aggregate base and surface course, installing culverts and signs, and all related work

This site visit in no way commits the Government to award a contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract(s) based solely on this site visit nor does it intend to pay for any costs incurred in response to this announcement. The intent of this notice is to ensure that prospective vendors may see the project areas prior to bidding. We anticipate issuing a Notice to Proceed by October 1st, 2023, with work continuing through October 31, 2024

Site Visit Information: A site visit of the project will meet at the Woodland Creek Pit at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time on Monday, August 28, 2023, then proceed to the other roads in the project.

Those participating in the site visit must furnish their own transportation and may wish to bring a lunch as the visit will take about 2-3 hours to complete. Please inform the COR if you plan to attend by calling Paul McCloskey at 928-814-2771, or sending an email to paul.mccloskey@usda.gov , by noon of the day before the site visit.

The function of the Forest Service site visit is to show the on-the-ground location of the work areas, boundaries and other in-place markers, and the routes of travel that may be utilized in going to and from the work areas.

Directions from New Meadows Ranger Station to Woodland Creek Pit

(44.92465, -116.41279) (~18 minutes):

• Head west/south on Highway 95 for 7.8 miles

• Turn right onto Lost Valley Reservoir Road, at the Huckleberry Bakery & Café, and continue for 2.1 miles

• Turn left on Forest Road 50520 and continue for 1.3 miles, the pit will be on the left

Directions from Council Ranger Station to Woodland Creek Pit

(44.92465, -116.41279) (~28 minutes):

• Head north on Highway 95 for 15.5 miles

• Turn right onto Lost Valley Reservoir Road, at the Huckleberry Bakery & Café, and continue for 2.1 miles
