Description of Requirement
The purpose of this contract is for the performance of laboratory analysis for the Rio Grande National Forest. The Forest has a need for testing drinking water samples delivered to a laboratory. To meet regulatory standards, drinking water samples must be received by the lab within the required 24-hour window of the sample being taken. The samples must be delivered timely to the testing site to ensure ample time remains to conduct the required testing to produce an accurate report. The constraint of needing to deliver and test the collected water samples, Rio Grande National Forest limits feasible distance for travel to a qualifying lab. This contract will be awarded to a qualified Laboratory within a 50-mile radius of the Forest Service office located at 1803 West Hwy 160 Monte Vista, CO 81144.
In the instance that the laboratory is not within commuting distance from the Forest Service office located at 1803 West Hwy 160 Monte Vista, CO 81144, the burden will be on the laboratory to provide mailing envelopes for the samples to be sent and received overnight.
Drinking water sampling for total coliform and nitrate/nitrite analysis reports shall be provided via email within 2 business days of arrival at the laboratory.
Location
Drinking water samples will be collected at various locations on the Rio Grande National Forest.
Samples will be delivered to the Laboratory on the same day as collection.
