Prepared By:

Strategic Acquisition Center Department of Veterans Affairs 10300 Spotsylvania Avenue, Suite 400 Fredericksburg, VA 22408

1. SCOPE OF WORK:

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Non-Expendable Equipment National Program has identified the VEIN FINDERS product line as a candidate for a VA-wide (otherwise referred to as “national”) single Requirements contract award.

Vein Finders, which are also called vein viewers, pass infrared or near-infrared (NIR) light through targeted body tissue to non-invasively locate and assess underlying veins. It uses transillumination or imaging by digitally projecting onto the surface of the skin. Vein finders are used on patients who have extremely hard-to-find veins such as pediatric patients, dehydrated patients, obese patients, and patients with poor circulation. They are also used to assist clinicians during treatment of varicose and spider veins.

The Contractor must demonstrate the ability to meet all requirements for the solicitation. The objective is to provide Vein Finders to be used by clinicians throughout the VA medical centers and facilities. The period of performance is for one (1) 12-month base period with four (4) 12-month option periods.
