4.5 Ordering
Ordering
When an ATF program manager identifies a need for a contractor, he/she will contact potential contractors to determine their availability. Typically, ATF provides a lead time of sixty (60) days. However, when a need to backfill a requirement or some other emergency requirement occurs, ATF may make contractor availability requests with much shorter lead times.
For routine requests, ATF will allow the contractor up to two (2) days from the time of request to respond affirmatively, before seeking a contractor from another source. For non-routine requests, the ATF Training Manager will determine the amount of available response time allowed on a case-by-case basis and provide this information to the contractor at the time of the request. No contractor will have recourse against ATF when situations dictate contractor scheduling outside of the standard time frames for placing contractor calls.
