About this file

This is a technical specification document for River Parishes Community College (RPCC) establishing minimum requirements for the procurement of one new 18-wheeler truck with sleeper cab. The specification mandates that the equipment be a 2026 model year or newer production model meeting all applicable state and federal safety and emission standards. A 2026 Kenworth T880 Sleeper Cab Highway Tractor serves as the representative specification for establishing equivalency evaluation criteria. The document details comprehensive requirements across five primary categories: primary requirements including a PACCAR MX-13 engine with automated transmission, ABS, and traction control; chassis details specifying a Kenworth T880 with dual exhaust and AG 400 suspension; vehicle options such as digital cluster, navigation, dash cameras, and USB ports; body details including a minimum 52-inch mid-roof sleeper with dual air ride seats and seating capacity for 5-6 persons; and safety systems encompassing collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, electronic stability control, cameras, and blind spot monitoring. The vendor must demonstrate Louisiana authorized dealer representation with properly trained technicians capable of providing warranty and repair services in accordance with manufacturer requirements.

Bidders must acknowledge compliance with each specification section by marking "Yes" or "No" and submit any exceptions or deviations on the designated "Bidder's Exceptions" page with their bid submittal. The vendor shall deliver the unit completely assembled and ready for operation, including performance of a test run to verify all features are functioning properly and a Louisiana safety inspection prior to delivery. Required documentation includes a notarized bill of sale, certificate of origin, dealer's service policy, owner's and service manuals in hardcopy and digital formats, and build sheets written in plain language detailing all standard and optional features. Payment processing is contingent upon RPCC inspection and compliance verification. Invoices will not be processed until the unit meets all specification requirements. Any additions, deletions, or variations from specifications or manufacturer standards must be clearly documented; failure to note exceptions prior to award may result in equipment rejection at delivery.
