About this file
This document is a State of California Department of General Services (DGS) Bid Specification for wooden pallets, specifically Attachment B to Contract #1-22-25-90, Revision 1, dated February 10, 2020. The specification is part of a multiple-agency contract for standardizing wooden pallet procurement and is designed to establish technical requirements for pallets intended for use with low lift pallet trucks and forklift trucks.
The specification details six different pallet sizes and two primary pallet types (Type 2 and Type 4), with precise dimensional requirements for top and bottom decks. Each pallet size is characterized by specific length, width, and deck board configurations, ranging from 42"L x 36"W to 48"L x 48"W. The pallets must be constructed using minimum 1" x 6" boards, with particular attention to board placement on stringers and even spacing. A key quality requirement is that all pallets must be of sturdy construction and in adequate condition to ensure safe goods delivery without damage. The document provides detailed technical drawings and a comprehensive table outlining the exact specifications for each pallet size and type.
