1. BACKGROUND:

NAVIMFAC PACNORWEST in support of SSBN 731 USS Henry M Jackson requires contractor services for the restoration/repair of plasma spray on six watertight door locking ring lugs.

Describe current (baseline) condition: Locking ring, item 1 of reference (a) has worn areas of thermal spray showing white base metal visible

2. SCOPE: Contractor shall:

2.1 Apply thermal spray, by process METCO 445 as directed by reference (a), to 6 Watertight Door (WTD) Locking Ring Lugs total, on 1 WTD Locking Ring. Application process shall be accomplished in accordance with reference (b) & reference (c).

2.2 The contractor shall submit proof of NAVSEA certification of the thermal spray process in accordance with reference (b) with quote.

3. DELIVERABLE ITEMS:

3.1 Certifications of contractor’s facilities, operators and QA program.

3.2 2(EA) Thermal Spray Job Record in accordance with reference(b) Figure 1, 2, 3 or 4. Selection of the appropriate record is dependent on spray process utilized by contractor for repair of Watertight Door Locking Ring Lugs, reference(a).

3.3 Figure 3 of reference(b).

3.4 Enclosure 3, 6 & 7 of reference(c).

4. CONTRACTOR FURNISHED MATERIAL:

4.1 Contractor is responsible for all materials required to accomplish thermal spray services.

5. GOVERNMENT-FURNISHED PROPERTY:

5.1 Original acquisition value of material: $4,864.25 each

5.2 Location of GFP: (1 EA) Watertight Door Locking Ring (Ref a) will be delivered to contractor by expedited shipping method.

5.3 Manufacturer, model # and type include serial number(s):

1(EA) Watertight Door Locking Ring (item 14 ref a)

5.4 Government provided or contractor pickup: Government provided

6. QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:

PSNS&IMF –or- Contractor is responsible for quality assurance.
