1.0 Description of Services

1.1 Objective(s): This Performance-based Work Statement (PWS) describes the services required to modify and support up to 36 HH-60G aircraft with Datalinks capabilities. These services include the following:

- Assembly of modification kits

- Storage and shipment of modification kits

- Installation of modification kits

- Engineering, Technical and Logistics support concurrent with installation and post installation of datalinks modification kits

- Spares acquisition and management

- Software Support

- Repair of datalinks components

1.2 Benefit to United States Air Force (USAF): This acquisition will benefit the USAF by providing a key capability for the warfighter to enhance battlefield situational awareness. This new capability will allow real-time data for aircrews to avoid other air traffic in the hot zone, improve ability to distinguish between hostile versus friendly forces, and increase survivability of aircrews and survivors during extraction missions.

1.3 Background: This acquisition will provide for materials, and labor to build, integrate and install the Datalinks capability on 36 aircraft. Datalinks is a suite of modifications encompassing Link 16, Blue Force Tracker 2 (BFT2), and Remotely Operated Video Enhanced Receiver Six (Rover6). With impending retirements of the HH-60G due to the fielding of the new Combat Rescue Helicopter there is not sufficient justification to stand up a depot source for sustainment.

On-going Contractor support is required to sustain the fleet for Datalinks during fielding through retirement.
