General Overview Gateway Arch National Park is in St. Louis, Missouri, and is part of the National Park Service System.
Custodial Services are required for the Visitor Center West Entrance and Museum Area. Services are also required for the Tram Lobby Area (see Attachment 4 Cleaning Areas). The Gateway Arch Visitor Center building is located in the park and is a LEAD Silver Certified structure. With that certification, we strive to utilize green cleaning procedures. Cleaning products and service levels shall meet the Green Seal Standard and its future revisions, see Attachment 5. Contractor will provide cleaning products, rags, mop/dust mop heads, and floor maintenance machines (scrubbers and vacuums) as part of the contract.
Due to COVID-19 conditions, US Gateway Arch’s hours of operation have been shortened to 9am to 6pm. Initial hours of this janitorial service will be from 6:30pm to 2:30am seven days a week including holidays. This schedule shall be in place until a date determined by US Gateway Arch leadership. It is currently anticipated that this 6:30pm to 2:30am schedule will be in place through the base year period of performance. Please visit https://www.nps.gov/jeff/learn/news/gateway-arch-national-park-to-beginphased-reopening.htm to view the site’s Phased Reopening Plan for additional information.
Regular hours of this janitorial service contract will be from 11pm to 7am seven days a week including holidays. Approximately the week prior to Memorial Day through the week after Labor Day. Six days outside of the summer season will also be programmed, for additional floor cleaning and sealing prior to heavy winter holiday visitation.
The Arch Visitor Center is designated as an ICON building with high security. All employees and representatives working in the park will be required to have background investigations to be issued an access badge to work in the building. Visitation normally ranges from 1,200 to 13,000 visitors per day.
The park has no parking available on site, there are numerous parking garages available within a 5-block radius of the visitor center. Arrangements may be made with the Old Cathedral for parking daily. The Old Cathedral is not park of the National Park Service, and as such, we do not administer the adjacent parking lot. They do not allow parking the week before and after the 4th of July, nor on holy holidays.
