About this file

This requirements document outlines the need for three tracking mounts to replace aging equipment at Holloman Air Force Base. The contractor must deliver mounts weighing less than 180 pounds capable of handling a 200-pound camera payload, with 270 degrees of azimuth and 180 degrees of elevation rotation controllable from 0 to 120 degrees per second. The mounts require direct drive closed loop servo, 19-bit encoders with 20 arc-second accuracy. Delivery of all hardware and documentation is due 120 days from award to the 704th Test Group at Building 1260 on Holloman Air Force Base. The related solicitation from the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center seeks tracking mounts meeting the specifications in the requirements document.

TRACKING MOUNTS FOR I2MP

Requirements Document

For

704th Test Group/846th Test Squadron

01 March 2021

1.0 PURPOSE

The Holloman High Speed Test Track (HHSTT) collects high speed imagery of test items traveling up to 10,000 feet per second along a 10-mile long sled track. High speed video recording is required to provide data for scientific design, test, evaluation and analysis. Tracking mounts are regularly used to track test articles and collect customer data. Thirty year old Kineto Tracking Mounts (KTM) are currently being used and many of the components are no longer working. Due to the age of the KTM’s, many of the needed positioning and servo control components are obsolete. Replacing the KTM’s with lightweight, high speed optical systems provides the 846 Test Squadron with up to date tracking systems able to integrate with other updated imaging components. New tracking mounts will improve and modernize the HHSTT’s optical measurement capabilities.

2.0 SCOPE

The contractor shall provide three (3) tracking mounts meeting the specifications below.
