Requirements Document
For
Arnold AFB, TN
June 2020
1.0 PURPOSE
The Aeropropulsion Test Branch’s mission is to lead DoD Acquisition support by performing operability, durability, and performance tests providing validated data and analysis that will be used to make unbiased acquisition decision. The Aerorpopulsion Test Branch requires the purchase of one 300kW Circulation
Heater with Remote Mounted Control Panel.
2.0 SCOPE
The vendor shall deliver one 300kW Circulation Heater with Remote Mounted Control Panel that meets the following requirements:
2.1 Operating conditions
2.1.1 Heated Meduim: air
2.1.2 Flow Rate: 0.2 to 1.0 lb/sec
2.1.3 Design Temperature: 800°F
2.1.4 Design Pressure: 400psig
2.1.5 Temperature In: -50 to 100 °F
2.1.6 Temperature Out: 450 to 800 °F
2.1.7 Operating Pressure: 250 psig
2.1.8 Ambient Temperature: 70 °F
2.1.8 Environment: Outdoor
2.1.9 Class: 1 Division: 2 Group:C/D
2.1.10 Notes: “Temperature In” is listed as a range since it depends on the temperature of the supply air
2.1.11 Pipe Design: ASME B31.3
2.1.12 Design Code: ASME Section VIII

b) Overall height of heater shall not exceed 10 feet
c) The inlet shall be located towards the bottom and on the side of the vessel. The outlet shall be located on the top of the vessel
3.0 DELIVERABLES
3.1 The vendor shall deliver the hardware to USAF Warehouse Receiving #1, 1476 Avenue E, Arnold
AFB, TN 37389 by 1 November 2020.
