About this file
This is an appendix document for UST Permit #08424 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, related to underground storage tank remediation and groundwater monitoring activities. The document establishes a distribution list for plans and reports to thirteen stakeholders including individual property owners, Spartanburg County, fire districts, and various business entities with tax map identification numbers. The project requires quarterly sampling of three receptor locations: a private water supply well (WW-1), and two Lake Bowen sites (SW-1 and SW-2). The analytical scope includes testing for multiple compounds including BTEX, MTBE, naphthalene, 1,2-DCA, EDB, and various fuel oxygenates using EPA methods 8260D, 8011, 9056, and others, with reporting limits ranging from 0.02 to 200 micrograms per liter.
The document specifies that up to five verification wells may be installed during post-corrective action verification phases at locations designated by the UST Division, with installation costs incorporated into the approved corrective action budget. During the verification period, wells must be analyzed for the standard parameters plus additional parameters including dissolved oxygen, ferrous iron, methane, nitrate, and sulfate. Groundwater sampling data from June 14, 2022, is provided showing dissolved cocontaminant concentrations at monitoring well MW-1, with benzene at 72.6 micrograms per liter and other compounds detected at various levels. The analytical parameters and verification requirements indicate ongoing environmental assessment and remediation compliance activities for the permitted underground storage tank facility.

Verification Wells
Five (5) verification well(s) may be installed during the post-corrective action verification period at locations designated by the UST Division. Costs for the well installation(s) are considered part of the approved Corrective Action Cost. The UST Division will calculate SSTLs for the verification well(s) and provide data to the contractor in writing. During the verification period, all wells must be sampled for the parameters listed in the Analytical Parameters Table as well as the following parameters:
Analyte Analytical Method Reporting Limit Dissolved Oxygen SM4500-O G 500 µg/L
