A. PLACE PLUGS IN INLET AND OUTLET PORTS. IF ITEM IS RECEIVED WITH PLUGS INSTALLED THEN THIS
STEP MAY BE ELIMINATED. INSTALL PLUGS AS FOLLOWS:
• NAS833 OR EQUIVALENT, QTY. 3, PLUG PORTS R1, P3, AND P2
• NAS834 OR EQUIVALENT, QTY. 2, PLUG PORTS P1, AND R2
• NAS847 OR EQUIVALENT, QTY. 1, PLUG AIR BLEEDER PORT
B. SECURE WITH TAPE.
C. CLOSE BAG BY HEAT SEALING.
D. LEVEL A: PACKING SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED USING A CLEATED PLYWOOD BOX, CONFORMING TO
ASTM-D6251, TYPE III, CLASS 1.
LEVEL B: THE UNIT CONTAINER IS AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL B SHIPPING CONTAINER.
FOR BOTH LEVEL A AND LEVEL B, WHEN THE TOTAL QUANTITY TO BE SHIPPED TO THE SAME
DESTINATION EXCEEDS 125 POUNDS, EXTERIOR PACKS WITHOUT SKIDS SHALL BE PALLETIZED.
MIL-HDBK-774 MAY BE USED FOR GUIDANCE.
E. INSPECT THE PRESERVATION, THE UNIT PACK AND THE PACKING IN ACCORDANCE WITH
MIL-STD-2073-1D AND THE APPLICABLE CONTAINER SPECIFICATION.
