MICROSCOPE SPECIFICATIONS

Microscope Base/Frame: It must be a manual microscope frame with a compensation-free infinity-corrected optical system and built-in Kohler illumination for transmitted observation. Microscope must be like or equivalent to an Evident BX43 Dual-Head Pathology Microscope with DP28 Camera. Microscope must meet all the following specifications:

Power Supply: The power supply must operate on 110-120 VAC and have a US Style 3-prong power cord.

Light Source: It must be a 2W LED light source equivalent to a 30W halogen light source with respect to brightness and color rendering. The light source must operate without supplementary color-correcting filters like LBD filters. A plain/traditional white-light LED light source without color compensation which closely resembles the wavelength characteristics of a halogen light source is not acceptable.

Stage: The stage must be right-handed, manual, mechanical and have a long stalk.

Slide Holder: The slide holder must have a left-hand release and be capable of holding two slides.

Nosepiece: The nosepiece must be encoded and have six positions with RMS threading. It must also have a slider to hold an analyzer to be used with polarized light.

Objectives: The microscope must include the following six objectives, all with RMS threading and an optical field number of 26.5. All objectives must be non-immersion (air/dry) lenses and use the universal infinity-corrected optical system.

(1) 1.25X plan apochromat lens with a 0.04 numerical aperture and a 5.0 mm working distance.

(2) 4X plan fluorite lens with a 0.13 numerical aperture and a 17 mm working distance.

(3) 10X plan fluorite lens with a 0.3 numerical aperture and a 10 mm working distance.

(4) 20X plan fluorite lens with a 0.5 numerical aperture and a 2.1 mm working distance.

(5) 40X plan fluorite lens with a 0.75 numerical aperture and a 0.51 mm working distance.

(6) 60X plan fluorite lens with a 0.9 numerical aperture and a 0.20 mm working distance, with correction collar.

Condenser: It must be a strain-free, swing-type achromat condenser with a numerical aperture of 0.9/0.17 and coverage for 1.25X to 100X objectives.

Dual-Head: The dual-head attachment must allow front-to-back observation and have a built-in LED pointer.

Observation Tubes: Two non-erect observation tubes must be supplied. These observation tubes must be binocular, low eye point and capable of a 5-to-35-degree tilt.

Eyepieces: Two focusing (helicoid) 10X eyepieces with an optical field number of 22 must be supplied. Two non-focusing (non-helicoid) 10X eyepieces with an optical field number of 22 must also be supplied.

Polarization: The microscope must be equipped with a polarizer and an analyzer.

Camera: The microscope must be equipped with a high-resolution color camera. The camera must have a one inch, 8.9MP color CMOS image sensor capable of 33fps at 4K resolution and 64fps at HD resolution. A power supply with cable for the camera and a USB3.1 cable (2.9m or longer) necessary to connect the camera to a computer/monitor must be included. The camera must be C-mount.

Camera-Microscope Interface: A trinocular camera port intermediate tube and a 1X, centerable C-Mount camera adapter to connect the camera to the intermediate tube must be included.

Nosepiece Control Box: A control box for the coded nosepiece and a cable to connect the coded nosepiece to the control box must be included. A USB to serial RS232 adapter cable with COM Retention must also be included.

Imaging Software: Computer software for sharing images and related data on a local network or remotely via the internet must be included. It must support NIST, GDPR and antivirus software.

Warranty: The microscope and camera system must have a one year or longer warranty for parts and service.

Owner/Operator’s Manuals: An Owner’s/Operator’s manual (Either printed or digital) must be included for both the microscope and the camera system.

Other Documentation: Detailed documentation must be submitted with all bids showing that the items being bid meet all specifications of the request for bid.

Setup and Training: The price bid must include assembly, setup and training for the microscope, camera and included software.

Budget: Cost of microscope, shipping/freight costs, and any other additional fees must not exceed $36,000.00.

Shipping: All shipping costs and any possible insurance fees, etc. shall be included in the bid.

Delivery: Microscope must be delivered within 60 days of receipt of Purchase Order. Delivery Address is: Thompson Bishop Sparks Diagnostic Laboratory, 890 Simms Road, Auburn, AL 36832.
