SOLICITATION NUMBER: AG-9JGP-S-15-0103
PRE-BID MEETING NOTES
On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, a pre-bid meeting was held at the project site. The following are comments made or responses to questions that were asked during this meeting:
1. This project is partially under the jurisdiction of the California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) for which an encroachment permit has been issued. Contractor is responsible for obtaining their own encroachment permit under the approved master permit. All work within the right of way is subject to CALTRANS inspection and approval in addition to the contract oversight provided by the Forest Service.
2. A section of pavement on the existing driveway connection from Silvertip Campground to state highway 4 needs to be removed and replaced. The approximate area is noted on the revised plans issued with this amendment.
3. All equipment will operate within the footprint of the project area. Equipment will not operate in adjacent meadow areas.
4. Contractor may use fill material that is stockpiled on site to achieve sub-grade elevations. Additional fill material will be obtained by the contractor from locations off National Forest Lands.
5. Does subgrade have to be screened? This project is subject to the CATRANS Standard Specifications, 2010 edition. The subgrade must be free from obstructions, such as tree roots, projecting stones, or foreign matter greater than 1 inch in diameter.
6. Water source for dust control, etc., is to be developed by the contractor.
7. Contractor can utilize adjacent campground for a staging area. Any damage to campground roadway, site improvements, or vegetation shall be repaired or replaced by the contractor.
8. Weather delays. In the event of an early winter on-set, weather delays will granted when considered unavoidable.
9. A California State licensed surveyor will be used to layout project limits and other pertinent locations necessary for accurate construction per approved plans. AutoCAD 2013 versions of the project plans are available for use by contractor.
10. The two pre-cast vault toilet units are to be transported by the contractor from the Forest Service administrative site at Alpine Station, located approximately one mile west of the project site.
