Question and Answers (Q&A) Document Version 1
AG-9AC7-S-15-0154: Seiad Residence Window Replace
Any additional questions and answers will be added to this document and an updated copy made available.
Q1. Will there be any painting within the interior of the building as a part of this contract?
A1. Painting shall occur on the inside and outside of the building as needed to match existing trim and as necessary in response to any damage to walls during window installation. See language under WINDOW SPECIFICATIONS:
General on page 4 of the solicitation.
Q2. Is the wage for a glazier required under this contract?
A2. The Residential Wage Determination applies to this contract, which does not include ‘glazier’. Per definition, a glazier fits glass window panes into their frames. Because the windows to be provided and installed are anticipated to be already be framed by the supplier (they are not loose glass panes), work specifically performed by a glazier on part of the Contractor is not anticipated as a part of this contract.
Q3. Are alternatives to the suggested window supplier appropriate?
A3. Yes; alternative suppliers are appropriate. Should the alternative windows proposed take exception to contract specifications, quoters should describe these exceptions. There is intention to retain, preserve or duplicate the historical appearance of the residence as much as practicable; however, the Government will consider some deviation from specifications when evaluating.
