SECTION 06100-ROUGH CARPENTRY

PART 1

PRODUCTS

1.1

LUMBER MATERIALS

Lumber Grading Rules: WCLIB.

A.

Beam Framing: Douglas Fir species, Number 1 grade, 19 percent maximum moisture content.

B.

Joist Framing: Douglas Fir species, Number 1 grade, 19 percent maximum moisture content.

C.

Rafter Framing: Douglas Fir species, Number 1 grade, 19 percent maximum moisture content.

D.

Non‑structural Light Framing: Douglas Fir species, Number 2 grade, 19 percent maximum moisture content.

E.

Studs and top plates: Douglas Fir species, Number 2 grade, 19 percent maximum moisture content.

F.

Sill Plates: Hem - Fir species, Number 1 grade, 19 percent maximum moisture content, pressure preservative treated.

G.

Miscellaneous Framing: Douglas Fir species,19 percent maximum moisture content , pressure preservative treated when below grade or in contact with concrete.

SHEATHING MATERIALS

1. Plywood Roof Sheathing: APA Structural I, Span Rating 24; Exposure Durability 1 unsanded.

2. Plywood roof sheathing at low roof over office area: provide high purity aluminum foil laminated as a facing to plywood using water-resistant adhesive

3. Plywood Wall Sheathing: APA CDX.

SHEATHING LOCATIONS

A.

Sloped Roof Sheathing: 1/2 inch square edges.

B.

Above Grade Wall Sheathing: 1/2 inch square edges.

1.4

FACTORY WOOD TREATMENT

A.

Wood Preservative (Pressure Treatment): AWPA Treatment C1 using water borne preservative with 0.25 percent retainage.
