All reports should be typed, double-spaced, with at least one-inch margins on all sides and justified.
Any statements not original to you should be properly cited in the text, and listed in the References Section at the end of your report using the appropriate cited style.
At a minimum, body of headings should include the following content:
Title Page
• An informative title
• Name of author(s)
• Contact information
Introduction
• include purpose of work,
• state the objectives of the research, monitoring or surveying,
• include any background material that is particularly relevant to the work,
• give a brief overview of the method of the investigation and,
• state the survey results and conclusions of the investigation.
Materials and Methods
• At a minimum, provide specifics on how the work was done. What procedures were followed?
Results
• Present data succinctly in the body of the report and presented in detail as tables/graphs etc. Strive for clarity and be concise.
• Tables and graphs alone do not make a Results section. Refer to the figures and tables by number as well as any other relevant information. “See Figures” is not sufficient.
• Each table and figure should be numbered sequentially for easy reference in the text of the Results and Discussion sections. Figures (e.g. graphs and diagrams) are numbered consecutively as Figure 1 to Figure X. All figures and table require a caption.
Discussion
• Explain your results in detail, speculating on trends, possible causes, and conclusions.
• State what conclusions can be drawn from the results
Attachment 2: General Report Template
• addresses problems that arose during implementation and how could they be avoided in the future,
• explain any exceptional aspects of your data or unexpected results,
• examine your results for possible errors or bias
• state your major conclusions as clearly as possible, using specific examples from your data
