QUESTION 3: To whom it may concern; Drawing# D4 (Barricade Details) shows 28 "T" posts in an X configuration placed in front of a Four foot high berm .My questions are 1. looking from the highway are the posts first and the berm second or vice versa? 2. Are the posts to be driven into existing soil or are they to be placed in a trench and backfilled with concrete? Clarification would be greatly appreciated . Thank You

ANSWER 3:

1.) Posts for the earthen barrier are first driven 2 feet into ground in ‘X’ pattern along the centerline of the barrier, then each set of two forming an ‘X’ are tied together with #10 or thicker wire three (3) feet above the ground and then the earthen barrier is formed up around the posts to a height of 4 feet, (thus burying the tie) and the 1 ½ to 2 feet of remaining post sticks out the top of the barrier down it’s centerline.

2.) Posts in the concrete trench are placed during the concrete pour and need not be driven into the soil.
