QUESTION 2 : Please review and clarify the fire prevention requirements checklist document that states "will / will not be required to provide and do checklist". It is confusing with regard to the water truck or water trailer. Most of the items are labled "will not" be required of the contractor with exception of communications (cell phone).

ANSWER 2: The contractor will be required to develop a fire plan for any project on the forest. This does not include a check list but required equipment to have on hand to fight fire if one occurs from the work being done.

The equipment required is related to the type of work being done, the time of year and weather during the project. For example if the project does not require a water trailer of water truck because the work being done should not create a fire or has an extremely low probability of one occurring then it may be limited only hand tools and some sort of water container of a specified size. This will include a means of calling in a fire. If one occurs or is found by the contractor a means of reporting that a fire has occurred or has been located is required i.e. the cell phone.

If on the other hand you were going to weld the materials on the site, then you would be subject to having more equipment and water on hand as well as having more restrictive requirements for when and how you can work.
