AMENDMENT 0002 to SOLICITATION No. AG-82X9-S-11-0026 TITLE: Administrative Site Shop Remodel, RGNF

Questions and Clarifications:

1. In Section 13125 on page , Summary paragraph C, you specify 22 gauge metal (.025). The .025 metal thickness that is specified is a 24 gauge metal. The 22 gauge metal is .0312. If I go with the .025, will I still be in compliance?

Answer: Look at section 13125 - 10; 2.8 Roof Panels; paragraph A, B, C. This section calls for sheet metal thickness of 0.025 inch which is 24 gauge. Since the building is not totally covered at this time, thus not requiring a lot of sheet panels, it would difficult to find a manufacturer to provide our needs for 22 gauge, therefore the requirement shall be 24 gauge minimum (0.025 inch) for our project. We will not accept a thinner gauge.

2. On the water heater do have any more details such as these questions asked by a plumber:

NEED TO KNOW POWER AVAILABLE FOR WATER HEATER, NEED TO KNOW

DESIRED FLOW RATE OF WATER HEATER ( GALLONS PER MINUTE ), AND

INCOMING WATER TEMPERATURE. BEST I CAN TELL THEY WANT AN ON-

DEMAND ELECTRIC BUT DID SPEC ON OUT. ALSO THEY WANT TO RUN A HOT

WATER LINE TO EXISTING SINK BUT I DON’T HAVE ANY LOCATIONS OR

MEASUREMENTS. I THINK THE ON-DEMAND SERVICES THIS SINK ALSO.

Answer: Section 15485 - Electric Domestic Water Heater was reviewed and the government will keep the existing electric hot water heater as is. The only thing required will be to add a hot water line from the existing water heater over to the shop sink on the north east side of the shop. This is stated in the SOW. Therefore, Section 15485 is hereby deleted from the contract.

3. Also on the roof, are we still supposed to have a walk path? Will the new roof system hold up to foot traffic? It sounds like the coating can be punctured relatively easily. What about pv maintenance? Thanks

Answer: There is no walkway specified in the solicitation.

4. What is the density of the foam you are looking for on the roof? Most roofs are coated with a 3 lb foam, but it wasn't spec'd.

Answer: We have 3-1/2 inch thick spray foam system per spec. For clarification 3-1/2 inch of spray foam will provide for a 3 lb density with an R-value of 22.4 minimum

5. What should we do with existing 10-12 inch vent on roof?

Answer: Remove existing vent and patch with sheet metal before applying polyurethane foam.
