Statement of Work
Chemical and Mechanical Site Preparation and Tree and Shrub Establishment for 2017-2018
Wetland Reserve Program Easements – Lamar, Van Zandt, Titus, Hopkins and Fannin Counties, Texas
Note: These deliverables apply to four (4) practices that have to be installed in sequence by the contractor. The sequence is chemical treatment, rotary mowing, ripping, and hand planting of hardwood trees. A minimum of 30 days must pass following chemical application before mowing can proceed. Progress payments can be requested by the contractor for each practice as they are completed and certified.
Deliverables
1. Contractor will conduct a pre-work conference with the designated NRCS representative.
2. Contractor will provide staking, flagging and layout of work area according to NRCS plans and design.
3. Contractor will obtain any required state or federal permits to perform the work.
4. Contractor will advise NRCS representative on any compliance issue related to federal, state or tribal law.
5. All chemicals (herbicides) must be applied according to label instructions and never used outside of their label restrictions. All local, state and federal laws must be followed. Refer to Best Management Practices (BMP) for Texas regarding chemical application in Streamside Management Zones (SMZ) and near open water.
6. Contractor will refer to NRCS practice specifications for site preparation (490) and tree/shrub establishment (612) that are included herein and are a part of the statement of work. These specifications are unique and specific to the following Wetland Reserve Program Easements in Lamar, Titus, Hopkins, Fannin and Van Zandt Counties, Texas: 66744211016F0, 6674421100YTZ, 66744213017S4, 66744213019Q1, 66744213019Q2, 5474421401GP2, and 6674421301D56. Location maps for each easement are also included herein.
7. Trees will be hand planted only.
8. Contractor will notify NRCS representative on completion of each practice.
Check Out and Payment
1. The designated NRCS representative or inspector will perform the inspection and certification of the completed work when notified by the contractor.
2. Each completed practice will be paid for at the unit price in the bid package and measured as specified herein in the attached specifications upon certification.
