Specifications
* The Forest Service will supply paint, nails, signs, and maps for this project.
* The Forest Service needs 155 miles of property boundary line painted, see attached maps for locations. Work shall include the following:
- Existing marked trees to include witness/corners and line trees will be re-painted with red paint.
- Scrape trees prior to painting, and Hack trees as per guidelines.
- Mark (scrape, paint, hack) any new landline trees in-between existing marked trees at approximately 100’ intervals.
- Sign every 200-300 feet with Forest Service provided sign “National Property Boundary”. These signs should also be placed before and after all stream/creek and road crossings. The nails will be left protruding at least 1” to provide for growth.
- The status of established witness/corner trees will be documented and information given to the Forest Service for updating corner card status. Existing trees will be refurbished, scrape/paint/hack.
- The witness/corner tree locations will be brushed out to provide easy visibility.
Brushing along the line will be necessary to only provide general walk through along the line.
- Put the paint on thick as some of the areas may not be re-marked for several years.
- Work to be completed no later than September 14, 2012.
- Paint USGS Marker Post, not over the emblem on top of the post.
- Corner trees full 4” band on the trees and blaze at ground, waist, and eye level.
- Victor Vazquez will be the U.S Forest Service field contact representative.
