The weapon racks shall be enclosed on all sides except the front. There shall be hinged doors on each weapon storage rack and the hinge shall be the entire length of each door. The doors shall be equipped with a locking device to secure the doors on each weapon storage rack.

TASER Storage The vendor shall supply one (1) weapon storage rack capable of storing approximately 100 TASERs on adjustable TASER fixtures or adjustable bins. Shotgun and Rifle Storage

The vendor shall supply weapon storage racks capable of storing at least 312 shotguns and rifles. The racks shall be at least 36” wide by 15” deep and at least 84” high. Each weapon rack shall have stock saddles and barrel saddles to support at least 24 rifles or shotguns mounted vertically. The weapon racks shall constructed of 16 gauge cold rolled steel or equivalent and painted gray. The weapon racks shall be enclosed on all sides except the front. There shall be hinged doors on each weapon storage rack and the hinge shall be the entire length of each door. The doors shall be equipped with a locking device to secure the doors on each weapon storage rack.

Miscellaneous Shelving

The vendor shall supply 16-24 feet of enclosed shelving system that is at 18” deep and approximately 85” high. The shelving system shall have roll up aluminum tambour locking security doors. The height does not include the box for the roll up aluminum tambour locking doors. This shelving system will be for the storage of firearms cases, cartons, ammunition, and other items. The shelving system will include five adjustable shelves with shelf supports at the front and back of each shelf.

Work Bench

The vendor shall supply a work bench approximately 72” wide by approximately 24” deep. The work bench will include a back panel with 30 adjustable storage bins, one adjustable 72” shelf, and adjustable handgun pegs for approximately 20 handguns. The work bench shall have a non slip surface.

Delivery

Delivery shall be made to the secure receiving location at the FLETC, Glynco, GA 31524. The material will be inspected by FLETC personnel and be held for pick up by the vendor. The vendor must pick up the material at the secure receiving facility dock and transport the material to the FLETC Armory. Due to the security at the FLETC, the Forest Service is requiring the material be picked up by vendor employees only. The use of subcontractors, temporary employees, or subdealer employees for the pickup of the material at the secure warehouse is not acceptable. Exact shipping address and location of the Armory will be provided to the vendor with the order.

Installation

Due to the security at the FLETC, the Forest Service is requiring the installation of the material be completed by vendor employees only. The use of subcontractors, temporary employees, or subdealer employees to accomplish the installation of the material at Armory is not acceptable.

All weapon storage racks shall be fully assembled and affixed to the concrete floor in the Armory using a minimum of four bolts. Stacked weapon racks shall be affixed to each other with a minimum of four bolts. All weapon storage racks shall be affixed to the weapon storage racks located next to it with a minimum of two bolts. All weapon storage racks shall be affixed to the weapon storage racks located behind it with a minimum of four bolts.

There are no hard walls in this area of the Armory so it is crucial the above directions be followed.

Upon completion of the installation the vendor shall be responsible for disposal of all packing material. The work area is to be left in clean condition and the equipment shall be ready to use.

Verifying Dimensions

The approximate dimensions of the room are 24’4”Lx11’4”Wx9’H. There are various obstacles in the room including two HVAC ducts running across the width of the room and fluorescent lighting fixtures. These obstacles decrease the ceiling height in some places and must be accounted for during the installation. Vendors are encouraged to visit the facility to verify dimensions in the installation area. The U.S. Forest Service will not fund these site visits. To arrange a site visit please contact:
