Text version

1. A question about the junction box was answered that the contractor just needs to locate the junction box. No work will be done to the box. If the city provides a new pipe to replace the CMP, the city will need to pay the contractor to complete that work.

2. A question about whether the contractor needs a licensed surveyor was answered that a licensed surveyor is not needed. The contractor is responsible for layout but qualified personnel can be the surveyors.

3. A question about dewatering was answered that cofferdams will not be needed around the training wall piers. Further clarification was given that if any dewatering was need during channel excavation that would fall under that item. It was mentioned that dewatering is expected to be minor which is why it is in the contract as a subsidiary item and not a direct pay item.

4. A question about work timing around the tide was asked. I estimated 4-6 hours (2 to 3 hours on each side of low tide) would be reasonable time available to be able to work on the training walls.

5. A question about overnight staging was asked. I suggested overnight staging either in the Town parking area or on Nettleton Avenue.

6. A question about permits was asked on whether permits were in place. I informed them that permits are in place and that DEEP linked this project to an existing permit using a Certificate of Permissions.

7. A question about Bid Bonds was asked whether a Bid Bond was needed. No Bid Bone is needed.
