1.01 WATER SYSTEM ELECTRICAL UPGRADES
A. The existing radio telemetry system for level control from the storage tank has failed and the water system is being operated manually.
B. The telemetry system will be replaced by a transmitter / receiver unit that is smaller than the existing units and will fit inside the existing enclosures.
C. Listed below are the items that are to be replaced by location.
D. Not all items are listed below see drawings for all details; this is a general overview of work to be done.
1.02 PUMP HOUSE ELECTRICAL (OUTSIDE CONTROL PANEL)
A. Telemetry Enclosure The existing telemetry enclosure and transceiver will be removed.
Remove conductors from enclosure to main panel and cut off conduits at floor. Remove conductors from this enclosure to main control panel.
B. Antenna Install a new antenna and coax cable and lightning protector will need to be installed to match new receiver.
C. Pump disconnect switch conduits. The well pump existing Nema 4x disconnect switch has corroded conduits entering this switch in the pump room
1. Replace the conduit from the switch to the well head with Liquid flex conduit. Reuse existing conductors. Match existing size
2. Replace conduit from wall penetration from control panel room to disconnect switch with Sch 80 PVC conduit. Match existing size. Reuse existing conductors.
D. Grounding: Provide grounding as shown on drawings.
1.03 PUMP HOUSE CONTROL PANEL (INSIDE CONTROL PANEL)
A. Telemetry Receiver Install new transceiver, program, connect to antenna and lightning protector and test a new 5 channel digital telemetry receiver. This new unit will accommodate the existing four float switches and a existing 4-20ma analog level transmitter in the water tank to indicate tank level. Telemetry receiver will be connected to existing set point controller and existing relay controls.
B. 24VDC Power Supply Install a new 24VDC power supply and indicator light to operate the new telemetry controls.
C. Rewiring panel for new telemetry Tranceiver Rewiring will be needed for the new telemetry receiver. Install new telemetry receiver in existing panel, with lightning protector and Coax cable to new antenna. New conductors will be required from terminal blocks to new tranceiver. Install new lightning protectors, fuses, test points and other components as shown.
D. Chlorinator overload relay heaters The existing chlorinator draws about 1 Amp. The original panel was designed for a 6 amp motor.
1. Replace existing starter overload heaters with new 1 amp heater elements.
