About this file

This amendment modifies a solicitation for next generation airtanker services. The U.S. Forest Service requires turbine-powered airtankers capable of a minimum 2400 gallon payload and 300 knot cruise speed to support wildland fire suppression nationwide. The solicitation seeks to award seven fixed-price line items for daily availability over five to ten-year periods. Lines 1-3 will begin in 2012 and lines 4-7 in 2013, with base periods of five years and option years ranging from one to five additional years. The response date is extended to February 15, 2012. The contract awards are expected in 2012 with performance beginning up to 60 days later than originally planned for the first three line items due to the delayed award. Pricing will be based on daily availability rates with flight hours an unknown quantity and not guaranteed.
