This project is located at the Chief Shakes Hot Springs day use facility approximately 25 miles north-east of Wrangell, Alaska. The site is typically accessed by boat. The ease of access depends heavily on the water height of the Stikine River. The higher the river level the easier the access, typically for hauling construction materials a river height of

19’ is required to get materials directly to the site’s access trail. The length of the trail is

950’ from the low water stairs and 450’ from the high water dock. The river height is usually highest from mid-May to mid-July.

The cabin and adjacent facilities shall be left in the same condition as when occupancy begins. Contractor must supply their own propane, heating fuel, etc. while occupying these facilities. A condition survey of the facility will be done with the contractor prior to occupancy and before departure.
