About this file

The document is Addendum Number One for Request for Proposal (RFP) R-6037A issued by the City of Aurora Purchasing Services in Colorado for the Kings Pointe Interceptor – Schedule B – Phase 1 project. The addendum extends the proposal closing date from November 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM MST to November 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM MST and provides 30% design markups for Phase 1. The document includes responses to 11 pre-submittal questions from potential bidders, covering project details such as the pipeline being a gravity line, connection points, floodplain permitting, easement requirements, and tunneling work specifications.

The addendum clarifies that both schedule and budget are project drivers, and the Phase 1 pipeline will be a gravity line connecting to the new Interceptor Schedule C, terminating on the north side of Broncos Parkway. The City requires proposers to submit tunneling qualifications at the time of RFP submittal, with the Construction Management/General Contractor (CMGC) having the option to self-perform or subcontract tunneling work. Proposals must be submitted via BidNet, and while there are specific requirements for tunneling experience and personnel, certain compliance documents like SBE Program Exhibits will only apply to the successful proposer after contract award.

a. The CMGC may elect to self-perform the work or subcontract it out. However, the requested tunnelling qualifications must be submitted for whoever is performing the tunnelling work.

10. If the proposer intends to subcontract the tunneling portions of the project, should the proposer contract with a tunneling subcontractor during the RFP phase, or wait until after selection so that the proposer and City can collaborate on getting subcontractors onboard?

a. See response to Question 9. The CMGC should submit tunneling qualifications at the time of the RFP submittal and have a team identified.
