About this file
This is Addendum No. 2 issued by Lane Engineering, LLC on behalf of the Dorchester County Department of Public Works and the City of Cambridge for the Cambridge Rails to Trails project. The addendum addresses pre-bid questions and provides clarifications on project requirements including ADA compliance specifications, site conditions, materials, and construction standards. Key project details include an estimated Notice to Proceed (NTP) of February 18, 2026, with a bid submission deadline of Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 10:30 am. Notable clarifications address pedestrian push button relocation (no relocation required), split rail fence specifications (10-foot wide sections are acceptable), lighting conduit requirements (two 1-inch PVC ducts with pull strings, no conductor cable installation required), and debris disposal procedures (contractors should verify acceptance directly with the county landfill). As-built certification may be provided by either a licensed engineer or surveyor.
The project is funded through Rural Maryland Economic Development Funds and a DNR Green Space Equity Grant. Bidders are required to provide a maintenance bond equal to 10 percent of the total project contract amount along with all other standard bonding requirements. All prospective bidders must acknowledge receipt of both Addendum No. 1 and Addendum No. 2 on the proposal page in specification section 0300-Proposal upon bid submission.
