About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to BID 2027-02 for Tennis Courts issued by the Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School District (ENSATS) in Massachusetts, addressing vendor questions submitted in response to the original bid solicitation. The addendum clarifies that vendors must submit bids compliant with all specifications outlined in the bid documents, with approved equal product substitutions permitted following contract award at no additional cost to the District. The project completion deadline of December 31, 2026 is not a hard deadline but represents the District's expectation for majority completion barring extended or unusually severe winter weather. The scope of work includes only topsoil and grass installation with no additional landscaping or planting required. The addendum confirms that soil may be removed from the site or retained on-site at the vendor's discretion, and notes that no test pits or borings were previously performed in the project area. Earthwork specifications will be provided in a forthcoming addendum.
The addendum addresses critical technical and scheduling questions from bidders interested in the $250,000 estimated contract value for the two tennis court construction project with associated site improvements. Bidders are required to reference Addendum No. 1 on their bid forms, and nine parties had registered interest as of the pre-bid meeting held prior to August 11, 2026. The clarifications provided in this addendum establish baseline expectations regarding product substitution procedures, project timeline flexibility, scope limitations, and forthcoming specification documents necessary for vendors to submit compliant proposals.
