About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 2026-063 issued by Union County, North Carolina on May 26, 2026, modifying the County's solicitation for Magnesium Hydroxide Slurry purchase and delivery. The addendum clarifies that bidders must provide Magnesium Hydroxide Slurry at 60% concentration with an allowable variance of 2% (58%-62%). The County expanded the scope to include three additional odor control sites: Hunley Creek Odor Control Site, Poplin Lift Station Odor Control Site, and Rehobeth Lift Station Odor Control Site. The estimated annual quantities are Crooked Creek – 69,000 gallons, Grassy Branch – 4,500 gallons, Old Sycamore – 3,800 gallons, Tallwood – 3,000 gallons, 12 Mile – 160,000 gallons, and 90,000 gallons each for the three newly added odor control sites, totaling approximately 480,100 gallons annually.
The addendum specifies delivery requirements stating that bulk deliveries to Wastewater Treatment Plants shall generally be 4,500-gallon quantities, with small package plant orders coordinated with the Crooked Creek delivery, requiring vendors to deliver small loads first before delivering the remainder to Crooked Creek. In emergency situations, the County requires 250-gallon tote deliveries for Wastewater Treatment Plants. The addendum confirms that Union County is not currently under contract for Magnesium Hydroxide Slurry, indicating this is a re-bid opportunity. All revisions and clarifications contained in this addendum become part of the original IFB document and must be acknowledged by responding offerors.
