SPECIFICATION FOR FME COVERALLS

NSN:

1. Style: 1 piece outfit

2. Color: Medium green.

3. Material Blend: 65% Polyester and 35% Cotton.

4. Material Weight: 5.5 to 8 ounce preshrunk cotton.

5. Material Weave: Commercial practice similar to two up, one down, right or left twill.

6. Finish: All seams shall be double seams and completely finished.

7. Fasteners: “Velcro” or equal (Hook and pile fastener tape) are required for the following areas:

a. The front of the coveralls.

b. Sealing the pant cuffs

c. Sealing the sleeve cuffs

d. Sealing the top of the pocket

8. Collar: A full collar.

9. Pocket: A Front pocket on left chest, standard size.

NOTE: No other pockets or through holes

10. Foot stirrup: The pant leg openings shall be finished off with an elastic stirrup. The stirrup shall be attached to each leg opening with a reinforcing box-stitch.

11. Size Dimensions: All dimensions and tolerances are expressed in inches.

NOTE: The above measurements shall be taken with the coverall laid out smooth and flat and the neck fully extended.

(a) Chest: Twice the measurement taken across the front at the base of the armholes, from folded edge to folded edge.

(b) Leg Inseam: Measurement shall be taken from the junction of the seams (crotch) along the inseam to the bottom of the coverall.

(c) Sleeve Inseam: Measurement shall be taken from the base of the armhole along the inseam to the bottom edge of the seam.

12. Workmanship: The coveralls shall be free of any loose material such as strings, fibers, unraveling materials, lint, fluff from cloth, or any other particles of size visible to the unaided eye.

13. Special instructions: All coveralls shall be preshrunk prior to receipt by the government.

14. Markings: Coveralls shall be labeled in permanent and visible manner with the manufacturer’s name and identifying number.

15. Responsibility for Compliance: The contractor shall meet all the requirements of the referenced document unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this document or applicable purchase document shall be meet.

A certificate of compliance shall be submitted for the following requirement with each shipment:
