About this file
This document is a specification for the manufacture and delivery of Storage Ring Beam Extraction and Crotch Chambers for the Advanced Light Source Upgrade at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The specification requires the contractor to manufacture 12 vacuum chambers in accordance with the detailed technical requirements provided. The contractor must submit documentation including CAD models, drawings, test plans and reports. Key milestones include a Final Design Review, production of a first article chamber, and delivery of all chambers by March 2024. The chambers must meet stringent cleanliness and outgassing specifications and some surfaces may be optionally coated with NEG material. The specification addresses material and fabrication standards, cleaning processes, leak testing and other quality control requirements to ensure the chambers are compatible with the ultra-high vacuum environment.
