About this file
This document is a single source justification for the acquisition of telemetry equipment from Innovasea for the Lower Mississippi Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office. The justification cites that the Innovasea telemetry system uses proprietary Vemco transmitters and receivers that are uniquely coded to work together, and any fish already carrying Vemco transmitters in the area can only be detected by Vemco receivers. As the project requires detection of fish carrying these transmitters, no other supplier can meet the needs of the study besides Innovasea. The program officer certified the justification as accurate and complete, and the contracting officer approved the use of single source acquisition procedures under the Federal Acquisition Regulation for this purchase from Innovasea.
The related federal contract opportunity is a special notice of intent to sole source award for solicitation number DOIFFBO230156 from the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service seeking the telemetry equipment described.
