Re: BLDG 127 – Tommaney Hall Library
Addendum Four
Questions:
1. Also, I don’t see where a tile and grid are called out on the Computer Lab Renovation. Will the tile be the same on both projects?
a. ANSWER: The Tile and grid in Building 127 room 132 (Computer Lab) is existing and is to remain.
2. I cannot find a 6x6 cable tray. I find a 6x8 and 4x6. I believe the 4x6 will be enough. Can we use that size?
a. ANSWER: 6x6 cable trays are available. Please use specified size.
3. Do the (2) new Cisco 48 port switches need a Gbix card for fiber connections?
a. ANSWER: Provide switches as indicated on the drawings.
4. On sheet A101, keyed note #7: the last sentence mentions “… provide auditory assistance functionality…” Does this refer to hard-of-hearing-assistance equipment? There was none of that type of equipment specified.
a. ANSWER: Yes, the contractor shall provide hard-of-hearing assistance equipment.
b. ADD part # LS-46-072 Listen Classic Level III Stationary RF System (72 MHz) to
Equipment schedule on sheet A-601.
5. Please specify the cabinet specs and sizes. A4/A401 and specs, what is the depth of the cabinets shown? What are the specifications for material and hardware for these cabinets?
a. ANSWER: The depth of the cabinets is 24”. Specification will be added.
b. ADD Specification section 064113 – Wood Veneer Faced Architectural Cabinets
(Attached).
6. Please provide a ceiling fan model RFI - Specs and Equipment schedule/A401. Question: No model number given for Canarm 48” ceiling fans. Please provide.
a. ANSWER: Please provide Canarm model # CP48HPWP or approved equal.
7. Please provide the Window film spec.
a. ANSWER: See new Specification Section
b. ADD Specification section 08 8700 – Window Film (Attached).
8. Please provide the podium spec given, cannot find a product matching this description. Please provide the part# for the Highland Butler base podium? Cannot locate with submitted info.
a. Podium shall be coordinated with electronics package indicated in drawings and shall be custom built to provide for all items. Contractor shall match existing podium design (see attached) as close as possible and shall submit shop drawings in accordance with specification section 064113 – Wood Veneer Faced Architectural Cabinets (Attached).
Please note this podium design supersedes previous photos sent out under addendum
Three.
9. The speaker layout and count hasn't' been addressed. The ceiling plan shows surface mount in each ceiling corner for a count of 8. The schedule calls for 16 recessed round 8” speakers. This install would need to be in a flat tile bringing them more into the center of the room. So, the question is: What is the count and layout of the specified speaker? Or do they want a different speaker type such as a wall mount? Sheets A101, A401, E201, A3/A101 and A1/E201 show different types of speakers as drawn. Both have a count of 8 speakers. Equipment schedule/A401 shows a count of 16 speakers of the flush mount, round type. What is the actual speaker count-8 or 16? Is the flush mounted, circular type correct from schedule?
a. ANSWER: There should be 8 speakers total (4 on each side of the room). The speakers should be the round recessed 8” speakers as shown on electrical sheet E-201. Locate speakers as needed to sound quality.
b. CHANGE equipment schedule from 16 speakers to 8 speakers total.
10. Per Drawing A401, the finish schedule requires new Draper Dual Roller Flexshades indicating
"N/A" as the size. Per page 132, 2.5, B, the specifications describes unit size as "Width equal to jamb-to-jamb dimension of opening". What are the window dimensions? Equipment schedule on A401. Roller shades. This schedule states a quantity of 4, Draper brand, Dual roller shades (2 per window). Little more was provided regarding these drapes. Question: Draper states that these shades can only be 14’ wide at a maximum. Each window scales at about 38 feet long. Is
8 total drapes (4 per window) acceptable? And what is the actual height and width of these storefront windows?
a. ANSWER: Equipment schedule should read 4 windows – 2 shades per window (8 shades total). The exact number of drapes shall be determined by the manufacturer and system requirements. Drapes must fully cover all windows indicated. Approximate windows dimensions are 7’-0” tall by 38’ wide. Contractor shall field verify sizes prior to manufacture.
11. Do you want to display different content simultaneously on the two screens or always the same content at the same time to each screen?
a. ANSWER: Haskell University wants the ability to display different content on each screen or duplicate content on each screen
12. Can all the new equipment be fed from existing electrical panels?
a. ANSWER: Yes, see electrical sheets for power to equipment.
13. Is the screen to be mounted on-wall or is the recessed screen in the tile an option?
a. ANSWER: The existing tile is to remain and has specialty lighting inset into the ceiling.
The screen shall be wall mounted as indicated in B4/A401.
14. Is there any backbone fiber or copper needed to connect the new equipment rack to the network and if so please indicate fiber or copper type and strand counts?
a. ANSWER: Connection of new work to existing network is not in contract and will be performed by Haskell University.
15. A1/A101 shows 62 chairs. Furniture/fixture Schedule on A401 shows 60 of one type of chair and
6 of another type of chair for a total of 66 chairs. Which count is correct? Do schedules take precedence?
a. ANSWER: Please provide the quantity of chairs listed in the Furniture schedule. Do not use floor plans for furniture quantities. Haskell University will have several extra chairs.
16. Equipment schedule on Sheet A401 "Alrea" Plus chairs are called for in the third row. Company does not exist. Should this read ALERA?
a. ANSWER: Yes, type should be ALERA.
SUBSTITUTION REQUESTS: NONE
