Biotek Synergy LXFA Technical Specifications
The Molecular Ecology Laboratory (MEL) at Southwestern ARRC is purchasing a new Biotek Synergy LXFA multi-mode reader to expand its capacity for efficient quantification of DNA for next generation sequencing. The Biotek Synergy is a multi-mode reader capable of absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence detection making it ideal for high-throughput nucleic acid quantification. The Biotek Synergy can measure up to 96 samples at a time. This would improve current MEL workflow, which can only quantify nucleic acid concentration one sample at a time. No other machines available in the MEL can be modified to accommodate this need.
Biotek Synergy LXFA Specifications
• fluorescence intensity, luminescence and UV-Vis absorbance capability
• continuous wavelength selection for UV-Vis measurements, with 200 nm to 999 nm range, selectable in 1 nm increments
• high performance, high blocking filters for fluorescence
• fluorescence optics and absorbance optics must have independent light source, detector and light path to prevent compromised performance
• fiber-less optics for fluorescence and luminescence
• filtered luminescence capability
• upgradable to add detection modes as needed
• compatible with 2 µL low volume microplate accessory with 16- or 48-sample microspots for direct nucleic acid quantification and other applications
• Measurement speed: 96-wells – 24 sec; 384-wells – 76 sec
• USB port for data transfer
• pc software for extended applications, data reduction and analysis
• available USB printer
