About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a construction services project for drilling two boreholes at Valley City National Fish Hatchery (VCNFH) and Baldhill Dam National Fish Hatchery (BDNFH) in North Dakota. The project requires a well driller with a minimum of 3 years of similar experience and a North Dakota well driller's license to complete two boreholes, with specific requirements including determining water flow rates (3,000 gpm for VCNFH and 2,500 gpm for BDNFH), assessing pumping quality, drawdown, and recharge rates, and conducting comprehensive water quality testing utilizing EPA or State of North Dakota laboratory methods.

The project must be completed within 80 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed (NTP), with potential additional time allowed for permits and material procurement. The contractor must coordinate the construction start date with the Contracting Officer, complete all borehole-related permits, coordinate utility locates, and be available for conference calls to discuss project progress. The boreholes will be located near the Sheyenne River at each site, with specific locations to be selected by local staff, and the successful completion may lead to a future project to install production wells for the fish hatcheries.
