About this file
This document is a Justification and Approval for a sole source award for a Circuit Board Router purchase using simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Part 13. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) requires the LPKF ProtoMat S104 circuit board router and accessories, valued at $35,860.47, to support its radio frequency (RF) printed circuit board (PCB) milling research. A sole source justification is required because the LPKF ProtoMat S104 has the necessary mechanical resolution and repeatability to accurately produce PCBs for RF applications. Market research indicates LPKF Distribution, Inc. is the only source for this specialized equipment. In accordance with FAR 13.501(a)(1), USACE intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract to LPKF Distribution, Inc. without full and open competition. A notice of intent to sole source will be posted on SAM.gov, and any responsible sources may submit capability statements for consideration.
