About this file
This memorandum documents a sole source justification for a maintenance services contract. The Department of the Army Medical Command's Medical Readiness Contracting Office-East seeks to award a sole source contract to Boston Scientific for maintenance of two medical laser systems owned by Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, Georgia. The contract would have a one-year base period from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, and four one-year option periods, for a potential total value of $143,140. Maintenance must be performed by the original equipment manufacturer, Boston Scientific, as the hospital lacks the ability to maintain this specialized medical equipment and aftermarket parts or service by unauthorized personnel would void warranties.
