5. Reason for Authority Cited: This is a new contract.
Peak Scientific is the sole provider for service, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, technical support, and contractual maintenance for all Peak Scientific gas generators within the North American territory. The PEAK Model I-Flow 6041 is currently installed at the Forensic
Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory (FTDTL). The PEAK Model I-Flow 6041 utilizes a Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) for optimization of energy. The PEAK Model I-Flow 6041 eliminates the requirement for bulk nitrogen gas and allows for a cost effective method to make and supply high purity nitrogen gas. The PSA system uses a method to compress the air, feeding into vessels to go through a cycle to deliver the nitrogen to our different areas of the drug testing lab.
The maintenance of the PEAK Model I-Flow 6041 is required for FTDTL to remain compliant and to meet the demands of the mission. Failure to award to Peak Scientific could cause failure, resulting in FTDTL to be unable to provide the needed services to patients being served by the
FTDTL.
