Mount Lewis Field Office UTV Statement of Work
1.0 Background
The Mt. Lewis Field Office, Range and Minerals Programs, identified the need to purchase one (3) high cargo capacity Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) for MLFO programs. Our team at the MLFO is expanding, and as a part of this expansion additional UTVs will significantly enhance our ability to accommodate the already growing workforce. The Mt. Lewis Field Office monitors and inspects BLM-NV lands in the Battle Mountain District. These lands consist of mostly unmaintained roads and brush. For the employees to effectively inspect the lands, it requires a 4-wheel vehicle. A traditional 4X4 truck does not have the maneuverability to travel into tight spaces and have sufficient space to turn around. Employees travel to remote locations that involve traversing rocky and possibly high-altitude areas with supplies and equipment.
