UNIQUE: Snap-On tool kits ensure reliability and dependability, something that needs to be consistent while working on aircraft. Also, standardization improves efficiency and ensure that mechanics can effectively test and manage all maintenance activities. By all tool boxes being the same within the aviation shops, safety measures are increased within the shops and on the aircraft as well as ensuring that all work that is done on the aircrafts have lesser chance of error due to tool inadequacies and effectiveness.
Description of Service or Supplies: The MNARNG Aviation Aircraft Support Facility received new authorization of surface maintenance mechanics and are currently utilizing multiple bay tool sets; causing additional inefficiency and decreased turn-around for MNARNG Aircraft.
7:
Market Research: Research reveals that other brand names lack compatibility and interchangeability with current Snap On tools in use by the MNARNG at both aviation support facilities and throughout the state. Snap On currently has established routes and scheduled stops at various MNARNG maintenance activities. The lifetime warranty coupled with the established Snap On supply and support system provides efficiency and cost savings. The continuity of purchasing Snap On kits also increases the MNARNG’s ability to cross level tools, kits, and personnel across the state IOT support equipment readiness and maintenance needs within the aviation shops. Changing brands from the current standard Snap On kits would hinder maintenance activities abilities to efficiently adjust personnel and equipment density as well as create a potential supply constraint, requiring new replacement and service processes to be established. The designated name brand is required for continuity, maintenance, and standardization across all MN aviation maintenance Facilities.
