This Work Authorization, with the AGREEMENT between Owner and Consultant for Special Services between the State of Nebraska here called "Owner" and ArchitecUEngineer herein called "Consultant" constitutes the express authority given the Consultant by the Owner to do work as follows:

The contract items for this project are outlined below and described in detail in the attached Statement of Work (SOW) provided by the State of Nebraska Military Department. The Project includes Type A, Type B, Bid Phase, and C Services.

The work covered by this Statement of Work (SOW) consists of all design services, labor, equipment, tools, materials, travel, licenses, and permits required to repair the failing Kalwall panel systems within the North Omaha National Guard

Readiness Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The project aims to resolve a pervasive issue with the existing Kalwall system, which consists of insulated translucent panels installed throughout the building, but primarily in the corridors and drill hall.

These panels have deteriorated, allowing rainwater and outside air to seep into the facility, and they cannot be economically repaired. To address this, the project intends to replace the damaged components with new energy-efficient, 1" insulated tempered windows designed to prevent the recurring issues associated with the Kalwall system. Additionally, the scope of work includes all demolition, and any flashing installation, drywall repairs, and painting of lintels and interior surfaces to accomplish the repairs. Construction costs not to exceed $85,000.

Specific Requirements

4) Conduct minor modifications to framing if necessary to accommodate new windows

5) Patch wall finishes as required

6) Repair exterior and interior water damage to walls beneath existing Kalwalls

8) Design will be bid ready by November 19, 2026
