This project involves the removal of approximately 310 tree stumps of varying size located at multiple sites within the community.

2. Project Quantity and Site Conditions

• Approximately 310 stumps located throughout the New Carrollton community.

• Stump diameters range from approximately 10 inches to 3 feet.

• Surface root spread extends an additional 3 to 4 feet beyond the stump itself and must be ground as part of the work.

3. Scope of Work

The selected vendor shall perform the following services for each stump location:

• Grind each stump and all associated surrounding surface roots to a depth sufficient to allow for turf reestablishment and to prevent regrowth.

• Grade the ground surface of each excavation/grinding area to match the existing surrounding terrain and slope.

• Rake resulting stump mulch/grindings back into the hole to backfill as appropriate; any excess material at the site shall be consolidated into a neat, tidy pile on site for the portion not hauled away.

• Haul away and legally dispose of the significant majority of grindings generated by the work. Vendor may retain and utilize a portion of on-site grindings solely for final grading purposes.

• Spread topsoil over each disturbed area following grinding and grading.

• Increased grinding depth or effort required due to root size, root spread, or soil conditions.
