About this file
This is a Statement of Work template for the replacement of pump/motor modules at NASA Langley Research Center.
The project involves removing and replacing two degraded 30 GPM pump/motor assemblies from an MTS SilentFlo HPU Model 505.60 located in the Materials Research Lab, Building 1205, Room 229Mez. The existing HPU specifications include: Assembly number 100252401, Serial Number 10385558V01, Generation G2, 3-phase 460V 60Hz AC power, 20.7 Mpa (3000 psi) pressure rating, right-hand orientation, tuned hose silencing technique, and water cooling method. The work scope requires safe shutdown and Lockout/Tagout procedures, complete depressurization of high-pressure accumulators, isolation of the targeted 30 GPM bay, disconnection of electrical and fluid line connections, installation of certified replacement modules, torque verification to manufacturer specifications, water-cooling circuit reconnection, replacement of high-pressure and filtration elements, and low-pressure bleeding and motor rotation verification. All parts must be delivered to NASA Langley Research Center, Building 1206 (Receiving), 4 S. Marvin Street, Hampton, VA 23681.
The deliverables include two operational 30 GPM pump modules with verified operations, a final service report detailing pump performance data (case drain flow rates, pressure ripple data, and fluid cleanliness certification), and successful completion of a 2-hour performance verification test demonstrating zero fluid leaks and normal operating temperatures with sign-off from the Lab Manager or Head Testing Engineer. The period of performance is 90 days after receipt of order (ARO).

2. Objective and Scope of Work
• Objective: Remove two degraded 30 GPM pump/motor assemblys from a multi-bay or MTS SilentFlo HPU and install a certified replacement module to restore optimal pump capacity.
• Scope:
o Safely shut down the MTS HPU and execute full mechanical and electrical Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) on primary power.
o Depressurize high-pressure accumulators and surge suppressors completely.
o Isolate the targeted 30 GPM bay using localized isolation valves to preserve main reservoir levels.
o Disconnect subassembly electrical connectors, interlock wiring, and run-on-demand (ROD) signal lines as required.
o Disconnect and cap suction, high-pressure, and case drain lines using ultra-clean plugs to prevent fluid contamination.
o Install the new replacement module.
o Torque all fluid line fittings and structural fasteners to manufacturer specifications.
o Reconnect water-cooling/heat-exchanger circuit lines and verify integrity as needed.
o Replace the high-pressure element and filtration elements.
o Clear LOTO, verify correct motor rotation, prime the pump housing, and perform low-pressure bleeding.
5. Deliverables
• Two operational 30 GPM pump modules with operations verified.
• Contractor must provide a final service report detailing pump operation.
Information can include case drain flow rates, pressure ripple data, and a certificate or test of fluid cleanliness.
• The system must pass a 2-hour performance verification test with zero fluid leaks and normal operating temperatures. Final approval requires sign-off from the Lab Manager or Head Testing Engineer.
6. Period of performance
• 90 days ARO
