About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the procurement of a Sloan Watchman Lubrication System for a WH74 Superior Compressor at the NASA Langley Research Center. The current lubricator system has a design flaw causing frequent hand purging, excessive downtime, and component failures. The procurement includes one Watchman for WH74 (Part WM-000235), onsite installation, mobilization, and packaging, with a total performance period of 8 weeks at the NASA LARC Compressor Station.

The detailed system specification includes a lubrication system designed for a WH74 Compressor at 600 RPM, featuring a 15-gallon tank with low-level switch and blue-level maintainer, divider assemblies, a Wizard monitor, and check valves. The system utilizes steel pipe fittings and Swagelok stainless tube fittings. The technical drawings provide comprehensive views and dimensions of the lubrication system, with a parts list detailing components such as assemblies, valves, tanks, and a custom electrical control package. The system is configured with multiple dividers and has specific pump range and delivery specifications for different operational stages.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements The lubricator system on the WH74 Superior Compressor 7 has a known design flaw that causes the system to routinely need hand purging. This process causes excessive downtime and often leads to internal lubricator system component failures requiring frequent repairs. Recognizing this issue Sloan Lubrication systems developed a Watchman lubrication system to replace the OE system on these compressors.

Procurement of this Sloan Watchman System will improve compressor uptime and allow the compressor station to meet center wide high-pressure air demand.
