RFQ 75N95023Q00499 Attachment 1 - Purchase Description

Purchase Description

1. Statement of Need and Purpose:

The Coherent Chameleon Vision II is a powerful and versatile ultrafast laser that has a wide range of applications in scientific research. Its short pulse duration and tunable output make it ideal for a variety of imaging and microscopy techniques, including two-photon microscopy and optogenetics.

2. Background Information and Objective:

The ability to tune the output of the Chameleon Vision II over a wide range of wavelengths allows researchers and professionals to select the ideal wavelength for their specific application, making it a flexible and adaptable tool. Its high peak power and reliability make it an excellent choice for demanding research environments, where accuracy and repeatability are critical. This will be used for our imaging experiments.

3. Generic Name of Product:

The chameleon Vision II is a tunable ultrafast laser that has the ability to emit short light pulses with durations on the order of femtoseconds, as well as its tunable output wavelength range.

The tunable aspect of the Chameleon Vision and similar lasers allows users to select a specific output wavelength within a certain range, giving them flexibility in their experiments or applications. This is achieved through the use of nonlinear optical effects, which can convert the laser's initial wavelength into a new one.

4. Purchase Description:

The Coherent Chameleon Vision II is a tunable ultrafast laser that offers a wide range of applications in scientific research and industrial materials processing. With a tunable output range of 680-10800 nm and a maximum power output of 3.0W, this laser is capable of producing short pulses of light with durations as low as 140fs. Its robust and reliable design, along with Coherent's Total Power Control technology, make it an ideal choice for demanding research environments. With its advanced capabilities and versatility, the Chameleon Vision II is an excellent choice for researchers and professionals seeking high-performance laser solutions.

5. Salient characteristics:

Chameleon Vision II has a tunable output in the range of 680-1080nm, has an average power at peak (W) of 3, and a dispersion compensation with a wider ranger compared to the previous model, the Chameleon Vision I. It also has a tuning speed > 40.

6. Quantity: One (1) Coherent Chameleon Vision II laser

7. Delivery Date: Delivery should be made within 30 days and no later than 85 days after receipt of order. Upon receipt the contractor shall deliver and install the required equipment. On-site training must take place at the customer site after installation.
